John Gordon - President

John Gordon has been involved in the renewable energy sector for 15 years. He began his career by becoming a partner at W.L Gordon Electrical, a family company focused on industrial electrical projects, primarily hydro and wind, in Newfoundland and Labrador. John provided electric services and heavy equipment leasing for W.L. Gordon Electrical and continues to provide oversight to the business as it continues to successfully operate today. In 2009, John established Newfound Electric, focused on electrical, civil contracting and heavy equipment. This company also continues successful operations today.

 John discovered his love of electric vehicles a few years ago and recognized its inherent business potential when he noticed the lack of electric vehicles available for purchase. He established Green Rock E.V.S. to capitalize on the potential growth opportunities presented by electric vehicles, associated products, and services. He has devoted all his energy to becoming an expert in electric vehicles and has used his electrical knowledge to learn how to service EVs hands on. John now has a comprehensive knowledge of electric vehicles that gives him a competitive edge.


Sarah Halliday - Chief Operations Officer

Sarah Halliday has been Chief Operations Officer at Green Rock E.V.S. since 2014, overseeing the day-to- day operations and ensuring the success of the company. Sarah has six years sales and management experience with Bell Aliant, including managing the corporate sales location and has received various awards as Top Sales Rep and Top A Store Manager. Sarah also worked in radio sales as an Account manager with Steele Communications for two years. During that time, she worked closely with business owners to ensure their success in branding and generating revenue. Sarah received a President’s Award for Radio Sales in 2013 and has also served as President of the Business Association of NL. In her free time, Sarah is also an active member in the local music community, performing with her band “The Halliday Band” and has been a proud member of Lady Cove Women’s Choir since 2006.


Johnny T. Beckett – Atlantic Sales Executive

Throughout Johnny’s dynamic career one thing has remained constant; his draw to engineering projects and initiatives that focus principally on protecting the environment, most notably renewable energy and sustainable transportation. Working as an engineering consultant over the past ten years Johnny has successfully completed design packages for various infrastructure projects such as LEED TM certified commercial and institutional buildings, potable water and waste water treatment plants, and power systems engineering incorporating wind generation. Additionally, Johnny has completed facility energy studies for various existing buildings; proposing energy saving measures such as lighting retrofits, dry-type transformer replacement, and modern energy metering and billing schemes.

His prime motivation to succeed in these endeavors is to continuously do what he believes is necessary to help secure a sustainable world that future generations can be proud of. As a member of the ‘Board of Directors – Engineering and Technology’ at Green Rock E.V.S. since its inception in 2013, Johnny has helped to cultivate the Green Rock E.V.S. brand by promoting the environmental, financial, and performance benefits of owning and driving electric vehicles. Along with developing professional grade cost estimates for EVSE infrastructure Johnny has also provided engineering design drawings and technical guidance regarding residential and commercial / fleet scale EVSE installations. Furthermore, on behalf of Green Rock E.V.S., Johnny has acted as liaison with technical and sales representatives of Chinese energy company BYD; successfully shadowing these representatives during a 12.2m (40.0ft) BYD demo bus reprogramming. Johnny has also successfully completed both a three day Nissan Leaf after-market training course and a five day Sun Country Certified Chevrolet Volt EREV after-market training course. Johnny has proven himself to be a confident and reliable team member, bringing ten years worth of engineering knowledge and professional practice to Green Rock E.V.S. along with his unshakable enthusiasm, communication skills, independence, and strong leadership.


Dennis Terry – EV Mechanic

Dennis joined the Green Rock E.V.S. team in 2014. He is Journeymen Mechanic and holds a Certificate for EV training with Sun Country Highway for the Chevrolet Volt, Spark, and Cadillac ELR. Dennis has also been certified with The Auto Career Development Center where he took the course in Boston for Nissan Leaf numerous after-market training. Dennis has been an auto mechanic in a well-known establishment for over 20 years and has received numerous certifications in the automotive industry. He is married to his wonderful wife, Lesa, he is a proud Dad, and music enthusiast. Dennis is extremely motivated, loves a good challenge, and is excited about the Electric Vehicle movement and to be working with the Green Rock E.V.S. team.


Jennifer Halliday – Office Administration and Service Manager

Jennifer Halliday is new to the Green Rock E.V.S. team joining as the Office Administrator and Service Manager. Jennifer holds an honours degree in Fine Arts from York University in Toronto, Ontario. For the past 5 years, Jennifer has been teaching voice and piano and doing administrative work for Max Arts. Athletics. Wellness. She is also involved in the local music scene in St. John’s, performing regularly with her band The Halliday Band and Lady Cove Women’s choir. Jennifer is excited to bring her passionate and hard working personality to the company and looks forward to growing the EV community in Atlantic Canada!


April Singleton - Procurement and Logistics Director

April Singleton joined Green Rock EVS in April 2016 as our Procurement and Logistics Director. April is currently completing a Bachelors of Business Administration Degree at Memorial University of Newfoundland. She has a diverse professional background including 4 years as a Financial Advisor for CIBC, and 3 years as an Assistant General Manager for Earls Restaurants. Working with Earls, April was heavily involved with the opening of new locations in the Calgary, AB region. Being familiar with and enjoying the process of opening and building new business, April was excited to join the Green Rock team to help grow the company.  She also loves to spend spare time at the cabin in her hometown, St. Mary’s Bay, canoeing, hiking and enjoying the wilderness!
